For two centuries, painters and photographers represented the Arab world as empty desert waiting to be filled or an exotic location filled with eccentricities. Arab filmmakers and others have been undoing, redoing, playing and violating these images for years.
Arab Cinema is no monolith, is no unified singular thing, it is many frames of land, body and image.

What makes an antique more than just an old object? This talk invites us to dig beneath the surface of things - tracing forgotten stories, unexpected journeys, and the lives objects lived before they reached us. Together, we’ll explore how objects become witnesses to history, what truly makes an antique an antique, and how learning to read the past can feel a little like time travel.
This evening also marks the opening of our new season, celebrated inside an antique gallery with special gifts from our partners, catering and a few surprises along the way.
